Dear Minister

On humanitarian grounds, I  demand the immediate and unconditional release of Mr Mohamed al-Halabi, who, as the manager of  World Vision Australia’s humanitarian operations in Gaza, was kidnapped by Israel on June 15, 2016  and falsely charged with providing  financial support to Hamas.

The sham accusations began unravelling from the start with World Vision’s assertion that it conducts scrupulous checks and balances, for example “Any payment over $US80 needed two signatures, with anything over $US15,000 signed off by the national office in Jerusalem” and audits are conducted annually through Price Waterhouse Coopers that show no diversion of WV resources.

In March 2017 “The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) says an internal review into World Vision funding in Gaza has uncovered nothing to suggest any diversion of government aid funding to Hamas.” ABC

The Israel occupation intends to hold a court hearing for Mr Al-Halabi for the 106th time since his arrest about two and a half years ago.

Israel’s cruel targeted discredition of  humanitarian organisations is non other than covert ethnic cleansing intended to intensify Palestinian suffering through humanitarian crises in Gaza and the West Bank see The Holy Land Five, Al Aqsa Foundation, and the recently exposed impersonations of aid workers by members of the Israeli special operations in Gaza has undermined ‘the critical activities of organizations large and small’.

Sincerely
